Presently, Indian Air Force initiates recruitment procedures for both genders
for AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test). The candidates must be eligible
with the minimum basic credentials to appear for this test. For SSC Wing Branch
and regular SSC in technical as well as ground branches the courses are on the
verge of commencement. To go for these courses and to join the short service
commission AFCAT needs to be cleared by the aspirants. The details of the
courses on offer are-

# Technical Branch -

# Ground Duty Branch

Criteria for
eligibility
# For Flying Branch in IAF - In any subjects, a Degree of B.E/B.Tech
with 60% marks is required. The candidate must have cleared his 10+2 with Maths
and Physics
# Technical Branch in IAF- An aspirant must have a degree in Aeronautical
Engineering, with 60% marks. Mechanical/ Electronics branches are also
considered
# Ground Duty Branch in IAF - In any subject, PG Degree or a Bachelor’s
Degree with 60% Marks in aggregate
Criteria for Age
# For IAF Flying Branch - On 1st
day of January, 2012, age should be 19-23 years;
# For IAF Technical Branch - On 1st
day of January, 2012, age should be 18-28;
# For IAF Ground Duty Branch - In 1st
day of January, 2012, age should be 20-27.
