About GAIL: GAIL (Gas Authority of India Ltd), India Limited is the largest state-owned natural gas processing and distribution company headquartered in New Delhi, India. It has six segments: Transmission services of natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), Natural gas trading, petrochemicals, LPG and Liquid hydrocarbons, GAIL TEL and Others.
Exam Details: Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) has offering notification inviting online applications from Graduate Engineers to work as 117 Executive Trainees in disciplines of Mechanical Engineering. Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering and Chemical Engineering through GATE 2013. Eligible candidates can apply online for GATE 2013 on 30 September 2012 to 15 January 2013.
Exam Pattern: GAIL in its notification has given following pattern of
written exam for Executive Trainees:
Paper 1st: Subject Knowledge Test - 100 questions.
Paper 2nd: General Aptitude Test - 50 questions.
While Subject Knowledge Test would be specific to your own branches, General Aptitude Test would be common to all. These 150 objective type questions are to be answered within 2.00 hours (120 minutes) duration.
There is negative marking - 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. As you can see, you have to give special emphasis on the Subject Test, as it has twice the marks of Aptitude Test. Following the GAIL ET written exam, the short listed candidates would be called for Group Discussion (GD) / Interview.
How to get the application Form: Eligible Candidates who possess Engineering Degree in relevant discipline need to apply for GATE 2013 on 30/09/2012. Thereafter candidates can apply online for the Executive Trainee posts in GAIL in desired discipline from 06/12/2012 to 15/01/2013 through GAIL website www.gailonline.com in the ‘Career’ section. After submission of online application candidates must take the print out application which includes the unique identification number, and retain it for further use.
