Exam Details:
Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has invited notification against recruitment of 811 Assistant Section Officer in (Group-C) of Odisha Governor’s secretariat Service and Odisha Secretariat Service under Home Department. Eligible candidates may apply through Online mode on or before 15/12/2012. The Odisha Public Service Commission was constituted on 1st April, 1949 after it’s bifurcation from the former Bihar and Odisha Joint Public Service Commission.


About OPSC:
OPSC Recommendations of the Royal Commission on superior services in India, 1924, referred to in short, as the Lee Commission, and now they find place in the Constitution of India in Articles 315 to 323. The Odisha Public Service Commission was constituted on 1st April, 1949 after it’s bifurcation from the former Bihar and Odisha Joint Public Service Commission. At the time of creation of the Odisha Public Service Commission the strength of the Commission was three including Chairman . The strength increased to five in the year 1979 and further increased to six in the year 1996.


How to get the application Form: Interested Candidates can apply for the post only through Online mode. The applications must be submitted online on or before 15/12/2012. After submission of Online Applications, candidates must take the print out of application form and retain it for further use.

Instructions for Online Application:

1.
Log on to www.opsconline.gov.in to start the Online Application process.

2.
Select the ‘Apply Online’ link besides the desired post.

3.
Upload previously scanned photograph, signature and thumb impression at the places provided and click on ‘Submit’ button.

4.
Take print out of application form and payment challan and make payment as per details mentioned above.

5.
After submission of Online Application take print out of application form and retain it for further use.


Exam Pattern:
Desired candidates selection would be done on the basis of candidates’ performance in written test and Skill Test in Computers. The written examination would be in two parts. In part I, candidates will be asked to answer 200 Objective Type-Multiple Choice Questions and in part two candidates will have to write two essays, one in English and one in Odia of 350 words each. The test on each subject shall be of one hour duration without any negative marking. Those clearing the written test will be allowed to appear for the computer skill test – both Theory and Practical - which shall be of qualifying nature.
