Exam Details: Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) exam date for National Eligibility Test 2012 is a common written test for determining the eligibility of the Indian National candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) NET and for determining eligibility for appointment of lecturers (NET) in certain subject areas falling under the faculty of Science. which will be conducted in the month of December 2012. The NET entrance exam will be held on 23/12/2012.
About CSIR: The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) the premier industrial R & D organization in India was constituted in 1942 by a resolution of the then Central Legislative Assembly. It is an autonomous body registered under the Registration of Societies Act of 1860. CSIR aims to provide industrial competitiveness, social welfare, strong S&T base for strategic sectors and advancement of fundamental knowledge.
Exam Pattern: Paper 1st: An objective- type test of duration 2.00 hours (120 minutes) in 2 sections, A and B. All the question are compulsory with the cut-off mark in Paper 1st deciding whether Paper 2nd to be evaluated or not. Negative marks are assigned to wrong answers in this paper where a maximum of 200 marks can be scored.
Section A: In 30 general question, the candidates knowledge on general information pertaining to Science, Aptitude for Scientific Research, Quantitative Reasoning and Computer Science are tested.
Section B: Focusses on the candidates chosen subject. There are 70 objective type questions, each carrying a maximum of 2 marks.
Paper 2nd: A Paper of duration 2.30 hours (160 minutes), it consists of descriptive-type question for a maximum of 200 marks. Candidate are executed to answer 10 to 15 questions.
How to get the application Form: A.) Candidates can avail the application form and information bulletin in hand through the notified branches of the bank on payment of Rs 400/- (For general candidates), Rs. 200 (For OBC candidates) and Rs 100/- (For SC/ST/PH/VH candidates).
B.) Candidates can also apply online by filling up the application form made available on their official website: http://csirhrdg.res.in/.
C.) One can also obtain the application form through post from the Indian Bank, 3/1, West Patel Nagar, New Delhi – 110 008 by sending a crossed DD for Rs 400, Rs.200 and Rs 100 (as the case may be) drawn in favor of Indian Bank, West Patel Nagar, New Delhi.
D.) The application form, duly completed with requisite enclosures and fixing requisite postage stamp on the mailing envelope should be sent to the Sr. Controller of Examinations, Examination Unit, Human Resource Development Group, CSIR Complex, (Opposite Institute of Hotel Management), Library Avenue, Pusa, New Delhi 110012 under certificate of posting or ordinary post so as to reach this unit on or before September 24, 2012.
