Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), a Maharatna Company of Government of India is India's largest steel producer with an annual turnover of around Rs. 50,348 crore (FY11-12). It operates and owns 5 integrated steel plants at Rourkela, Bhilai, Durgapur, Bokaro and Burnpur and 3 special steel plants at Salem, Durgapur and Bhadravati.

Raw Materials Division (RMD), the controlling unit of captive SAIL, invited applications for recruitment of 85 Operator-cum-Technician Trainees in its four mines. Interested candidates can apply online till 16 January 2013.

• Designation to be framed up:  Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee)

• Preferential Location of Placement: in their subsidiaries

• Compensation Packages/ Scale of Pay/ Pay Structure: To join as Trainee for 2 (two) years on consolidated pay (First years – Rs.8250/- Second year – Rs.9350/-). On successful completion of training, to be regularised in S-3 grade in the Scale of Pay of Rs.9160-3%-13150/-.

• Desired Standards/ Norms of Eligibility: Candidate must have Three years full time Diploma in Engineering in Mechanical/ Electrical/Civil/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Chemical/ Mining with Mines Survey Certificate of Competency from DGMS
  
  
  
  Selection Procedure :  Eligible candidates will be required to appear in the Written Test. Candidates short listed on the basis of their performance in the Written Test will be required to appear in the Interview.
  
  
  Age Limit : 18 – 28 years as on 30 – 06 – 2012
 

• Procedure for Registering your Candidature: Interested and eligible Candidates are required to apply ONLINE. After applying online, candidate is required to download the system generated Registration Slip with unique registration number and other essential details and retain a copy of the same. Candidates are not required to send any document for appearing in the written test. However, candidates shortlisted for interview would be required to furnish documents as required.

• Essential Fees for Remittance: Rs.250/- for General and OBC Candidates (Rs.50/- for SC/ST Candidates) -  State Bank of India (SBI) has been authorized to collect the application / processing fee in a specially opened Account (No.32469839252) at SBI, CAG Branch, Kolkata, on behalf of SAIL/RMD.
