Eligibility Test (SLET) Assam 2016-17
The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research
(CSIR) & University Grant Commission (UGC) conducts National Eligibility
Test (NET). UGC urged State Govt. & Union Territories (UT) to conduct its
own NET Exam to maintain equilibrium in the standard of Under Graduate/Post-Graduate
academic programme. In response to this a proposal was made to constitute North
East State Level Eligibility Test (NESLET). The north eastern states of Assam,
Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura and Sikkim are the
member of NESLET.
Conditions
of Eligibility
Indian citizen who possess Post Graduate degree or its
similar with at least 55% marks may apply for the test. 5% relaxation will be
available to candidates belonging to SC/ST or Physically Disabled category.
Age
Restriction
No Age limit has been determined to sit in the test. So
candidates are free to appear as many times to avail the opportunity.
Scheme
& Format of Test
i) The Exam will comprise of three papers
which will have objective type questions in the form of multiple
choice/reasoning/true-false and matching. The Commission conducts test for
assessment of talent in the relevant field on the basis of objective type
multiple choice test.

Payment
of Fee for SLET
Candidates will be required to pay Rs.400/- for obtaining
application form along with information brochure & Syllabus. Category-wise list of Test Fee is as follows-
General: Rs.800/-
OBC (Non-Creamy layer): Rs.650/-
Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe: Rs.600/-
Physically Weaker Section: Rs.400/-
Non-payment of Test Fee will lead to disqualification of
application form without information to applicant. Payment of fee should be
made through Challan at any branch of SBI.

Exam Details: SLET stands for State Level Eligibility Test for Lectureship. When compared with UGC NET, the written test for SLET is easy and candidate has an ease to choose the particular subject as it was only State Level. One of the major asset of AP SLET Exam was he/she will have an option to attend for test in their own mother tongue. For this Officials of Os-mania University will soon issues AP SLET 2012 Notification with dates, eligibility and availability of examination results. SLET Andhra Pradesh is for the one who are very much interested in the field of teaching in Universities in Andhra.
About SLET: In order to maintain a uniform standard of
teaching and research in the country, the govt. of India through its
notification dated 22th July, 1988 regarding revised pay scales states that
"only those candidates who besides fulfilling the minimum academic
qualifications prescribed for the posts of lecturer, have qualified in a
comprehensive Test, to be specifically conducted for the purpose, will be
eligible for appointment as Lecturers". UGC discussed the question of
qualifying for appointment as Lecturer with a group of academics, State
Education Secretaries etc.

How to get the
application Form: SLET
(State Level Eligibility Test) to maintain uniform standards for graduate and
post graduate teaching in the country, government of India decided to conduct
National Eligibility test (NET). Many states opted to conduct their own test
which was named State Level Eligibility Test (SLET, also named SET). Candidates
who clear this test are eligible to apply for the post of lecturer within the
jurisdiction of the member states of the SLET commission.
Symbiosis Entrance Test – 2014 :
It is also mandatory to
complete registration by filling up the on line application form of the desired
institute for the desired programme before the closing date of application of
the respective institute.
