Mumbai University Admissions form 2014
The University of
Mumbai (earlier known as Bombay University) is one of the oldest premier
universities’ of India imparting higher education to students from all over the
country. The university invites admission to its degree courses in the month of
June through entrance exams on the basis of merit and cut-off decided by the
university itself. The applicants can reserve their seats on the basis of tests

The MU offers courses
in a wide range of discipline ranging from Arts, Commerce, Science,
Mathematics, languages and other applied disciplines. The applicants aspiring
admissions need to apply in respective college, institute, or department.

Eligibility
Criteria for degree programs:
For
Undergraduate Degree Programs
The applicant must have
passed Intermediate /Class XII from any Maharashtra State Board of Secondary
and Higher education or any other Board recognized by the Maharashtra Board or
any other Board recognized equivalent to this with any one of the following
subjects: English, Any modern Indian language or Modern Foreign language or
classical language or Information Technology or the four other subjects
specified for it in the university brochures.
For
Post-Graduate Degree Programs
The applicant in order
to avail admission in the Post-Graduate Degree program must have passed the
undergraduate degree course of three years or old four year degree program of
Mumbai University or any other university recognized by the Mumbai University
or any other recognized equivalent university.
Colleges
& Institutes:
The Mumbai University
has two campuses in Bombay. The Kalina campus and Fort campus located in
suburban Mumbai. The Fort campus has two P.G. centers, 354 affiliated colleges
and 36 Departments. A minor campus running mostly short-term courses is located
in the town of Ratnagiri. Several departments of the University of Mumbai are
at places other than the Fort or Kalina campuses. These include the Mumbai
University Institute of Chemical Technology (MUICT), formerly (UDCT), the
departments of Medicine and Medical Research located in several prominent
hospitals in Mumbai, such as the Tata Memorial Hospital, Bombay Hospital, and
G.S. Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital.
How to
apply:
The application procedure for
admission to the session 2013-14 has been made available online by the
University. Applicants may use this facility to register online from the
University website www.mu.ac.in. The
online registration on the site through the 'Pre-Admission Online
Registration will produce a printout of application form that
will be submitted in colleges.
Applicants from states other
than Maharashtra, and foreign nationals may also use this facility. However,
foreign nationals will have to go through some more procedures for full
registration for the admission process.
