UGC NET Examination 2015-16

Online applications are invited from candidates to apply for University Grant Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by Central Board Secondary Education (CBSE). The Examination will be organized in 89 universities/colleges across India in 95 subjects listed in the notification.

Eligibility Criteria for Assistant Professor/Junior Research fellow

Age Limit -

Candidates applying for Jr. Research Fellowship should be under 28 years as on 1^st Dec-2014. Relaxation in upper age up to 5 years will be considered for reserved category candidates.

Remittance of Fee -

Examination fee should be paid through Debit/Credit Card/E-Challan including processing charges by the candidates depending upon category as mentioned below-

General	Rs.450/-
OBC	Rs.225/-
SC/ST/PH	Rs.110/-

Procedure to Apply -

Candidates are advised to know all the instructions and steps to be followed during application process. Please read below the stage-wise process to apply application form online-

(i) Log on to website www.cbsenet.nic.in and open the webpage. Fill all the details shown in the online form.

(ii) Scan recent passport size photograph and upload,

(iii) Complete the formality of payment of fee by way of various mode of payment which is mentioned above.

(iv) Submit the application form and download System Generated Application along with Attendance Slip/Admission Card.

List of Enclosures -

The following documents are required to be submitted along with online application form-

(a) Copy of Bank Challan,

(b) Attendance Slip duly signed by the applicant with photograph,

(c) Attested copy of caste certificate, if applicable,

(d) Certificates and mark-sheets related to academic qualifications, age proof, relaxation in upper age limit  and experience certificates etc. All the documents should be attested by a Gazetted Officer.

What it is?

UGC NET stands for (University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test) is conducted to determine the JRF (Junior Research Fellowships) eligibility in the students of the capability to Lectureship in the Indian Universities as well as colleges. It is in numerous fields of study, say approximately 78   disciplines that is conducted all over India in 77 Universities Centers.

The applicant once qualified the UGC NET is liable for the JRF only when ranked as a JRF merely qualifying NET does not gives eligibility for the JRF. The JRF fellowship amount is given to the applicant and applicant can hold research in the concern course. This gives the eligibility to the applicant to have lectureship in the Institutes.

Name of exam: National Eligibility Test (NET) 

Eligibility Norms:

a)    Educational Qualification: For JRF Post: The Applicants must have done BE/ B.Tech/ MBBS/ Integrated BS-MS/ M.Sc./ B.Sc. (Hons)/ Integrated MS-PhD or equivalent degree  at least 55% of aggregate marks from any renowned university.

For Lectureship: The Applicants must have done PhD before 19 September, 1991 with min 50% marks.

b)     Age Limit: The age of the applicant must be not more than 28 years. The age relaxation is provided to reserved category applicant.

Application Fees:  For Gen the fee amount is Rs.400/- and for OBC Rs.200/- and for SC/ST/PH/VH Categories Rs.100/-. The fee can be paid by challan issued by UGC which has to be paid by SBI plus bank charges (Rs.20/-).

Applicant has to go to the online website of the UGC and applicant can apply their online for NET.

05th May, 2014 : Last Date UGC NET 2014 Applying online and generation of filled Bank Challan (fee)

07th May,2014 : Final Date submission of Fee through online generated Bank Challan, @ any branch of SBI

10th May, 2014 : Last date of taking printout of Application Form, Attendance Slip and Admit Card from UGC website

15th May, 2014 : Last date for receiving the printout of online Application Form, Attendance Slip

Exam Pattern: The examination has 3 papers Paper I of 50 questions and 100 Marks, Paper-II of 50 Questions of 100 marks and Paper-III of 75 Questions of 150 marks of 1hr and 15 minutes duration (Paper-I & II) and 2 hrs 15 minutes duration (Paper III).
